HERM EDWARDS: “I thought we had a good practice last night and today was more situation [offense and defense] and really trying to rest the guys. We’ve got to prep hard after [Cleveland] because we get back Saturday night late; they’re off Sunday and then we leave Wednesday [close camp]. I’m going to have to change the schedule Monday and Tuesday ‘cause we have to travel twice to Cleveland and Kansas City.

Breakdown: Chiefs players hustled off to the team locker room while fans attending last night’s Family Fun Night enjoyed a fireworks display at Ramer Field. Head Coach Herm Edwards had cancelled team meetings for the night, but players weren’t running to reserve a table at a restaurant; they were actually in a hurry to get back to the team meeting room.

Q: How much are you going to play on Saturday at Cleveland?

HUARD: “I have no idea. I think that QB Brodie (Croyle) is going to start the game and then we will just see how things unfold. I imagine I’ll get in there at some point, but I don’t know.”
